JAJA is an architecture office based in Copenhagen, Denmark. JAJA is committed to exploring the field of architecture and urban planning by transforming complex compositions into crystal clear ideas. As in solving a algorithm, we gather the data, process it and boil it down to simple answers to complex problems. In this rigorous process, we are able to combine innovative thinking and efficient solutions as the driving forces of our designs. Our main motivation lies in understanding the existing situations, examining them and uncovering new potential for how we can form our surroundings. JAJA was founded in 2006 by Jakob Steen Christensen and Jan Yoshiyuki Tanaka. In 2009 Kathrin Gimmell joined the studio as the 3. partner. The partners has relationships with Schwitzersland, Norway, Denmark, Thailand and Japan and forms an international collective with a diverse cultural understanding. The trio has an extensive international experience from offices in Tokyo, Zürich and Copenhagen with reknown studios such as Bow-Wow Atelier, PLOT and BIG architects.
